KARA BOWMAN
KARA BOWMAN | DESIGNER & BIM MANAGER
Kara has always been drawn towards the built environment and creating experiences through materials, forms and spatial relationships. She attended the University of Colorado at Boulder and received her Bachelor's degree in Environmental Design, where the emphasis on contextual and responsible architecture left a lasting impression on her.
After graduation, Kara moved to San Francisco to join the Architecture team at San Francisco International Airport. There she had the opportunity to work on a variety of LEED and Net Zero projects and concurrently found her savviness for the virtual built environment. Kara developed Revit standards for SFO, prompting an invitation to present her work at the AAAE Planning Design & Construction Symposium in 2018. Seeking different design experiences, Kara then joined jmA to pursue her interest in high end residential architectural.
Kara grew up on a ranch in Colorado surrounded by animals and nature. She loves the outdoors and exploring everything the Bay Area has to offer. When she is not hard at work in the office, you can find her sitting at a pottery wheel, riding a bike through Marin with her husband or sipping a chai latte at a sunny café in the city.
